I’m so protective of my work, but my opinion isn’t the only one that matters. Seeking feedback from trusted readers is an important part of my writing process. Because feedback stresses me out, I give myself a pep talk to keep myself calm while I’m in this phase of the process.

You took an idea and told a story. You went through a full range of emotions while working through plot holes. You celebrated when you finished that really hard sections. Through all of this, you still love this story. Everyone isn’t going to like everything you create. That’s not why you’re seeking feedback. This is about making sure the story makes sense. If the readers discover issues, thank them. Don’t take every criticism to heart.
