I won’t beg you to stay

I won’t forgive your indiscretions to keep you near.

Ignoring the pain from the invisible daggers

That penetrate my heart

Would be like driving full speed into a brick wall.

I won’t love you blindly

Nor lay stupidly beside you

As lies separate us.

Time will remove the daggers

Tears will dry

The wounds will close.

Those memories will fade

You’ll be a lesson learned.
